~ Prices Ease In July ~

TREB President Ron Abraham has announced that, "Prices declined marginally in July, falling 1% to $312,418 from the $316,510 recorded in June. A continued high level of inventory (22,368 active listings - unchanged from June) has contained price pressures. This is welcome news for Buyers. However prices are still up 8% over July of 2003". Sales were strong last month, with 7329 single-family dwellings changing hands through the Toronto MLS system - the second best result ever recorded for a summer month and second only to July 2003 when 8084 sales were reported. In addition, year-to-date sales are up 10% over the 48,622 reported in the January to June period of 2003.

Average Days-On-Market in July was 35.

Mayor Miller was driving to work one morning when he noticed two men busily working away at the side of the road. One man was digging a hole then walking along the road a few feet and starting to dig a new hole. Behind him another workman was following along filling in the holes. The mayor stopped his car, got out and walked over to the two men. Both of them looked up as he approached and one man said, "Well good morning to you Mr. Mayor".
