"With 7498 sales, last month turned out to be the best August ever recorded in the history of the Toronto Real Estate Board", reported TREB President John Meehan. "Transactions were up 11% over August 2004 which was our previous record. Sales volume was also up about 2% over July. It's unusual for sales to pick up this late in the summer and it signals an active fall market ahead".

The average price for August came in at $323,255 with the median at $285,000. These figures are up 7% and 5% respectively over the $304,509 and $270,000 recorded during August 2004.

Some areas of the GTA experienced sales volume that was significantly higher than in August 2004:

Bayview Village/Hillcrest Village areas of North York was up 28% - fuelled by condominium sales.

Irving and Jessie were married on October 24 in the church. So ends a friendship that began in their school days.
A bean supper will be held on Tuesday evening in the church hall. Music will follow.
At the evening service the sermon topic will be "What Is Hell?" Come early & listen to our choir practice.

Potluck supper Sunday at 5:00 PM - prayer and medication to follow.
The ladies of the Church have cast off clothing of every kind. They may be seen in the basement on Friday.
This evening at 7 PM there will be a hymn singing in the park. Bring a blanket and come prepared to sin.
Ladies Bible Study will be held Thursday morning at ten o'clock. Lunch to follow after the B.S. is done.
Low Self Esteem Support Group will meet Thursday at 7 sharp. Please use the back door.
The 8th. Grade will be doing Hamlet in the Church this Friday. The congregation is invited to this tragedy.
Weight Watchers will meet at 7 PM at the Church. Please use large double door at the side entrance.
The Minister unveiled the church's new tithing campaign slogan: "I Upped My Pledge - now - Up Yours."

With 36 transactions thus far in 2005, single detached homes are the most common re-sale type in Rosedale. The year-to-date average is $2,072,854 - a 20% increase over the $1,730,474 recorded during the first 8 months of 2004. In addition, 6 condominium apartments have sold in Rosedale this year for an average of $475,833.
