~ Second Best Ever - February Up 2% Over 2004 ~

"In February, Toronto Real Estate Board Members recorded a robust 6171 sales", reported TREB President Ron Abraham. "This is our second best February number ever - a 2% improvement over 2004's 6060 figure and down only moderately from the record of 6866 sales set in February of 2002". The President also noted that sales were up 48% from the 4153 sales recorded in January - a figure in line with the seasonal trend.

Prices rose last month - up 3% to $334,272 from January's figure of $323,141. It was also up 8% from the $310,196 recorded during February 2004. The median price came in at $281,000 - up 1% over January.

Average Days-On-Market in February was 35.

TREB's 28 West Districts had:  2335 sales With an average of - $313,254
TREB's 14 Central Districts had: 1074 sales With an average of - $447,007
TREB's 23 North Districts had: 1264 sales With an average of - $355,188
TREB's 21 East Districts had: 1498 sales

The children were all lined up in the school cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school waiting patiently for the lunch line to move along. At the start of the serving line was a huge bowl of wonderful, polished red apples. One of the Nuns had posted a sign that said, "Take only one apple - God is watching" At the far end of the long line sat a tray of delectable chocolate chip cookies. Little Johnny looked back along the line at the Nun who was watching the children. He took out a pad of paper and his crayons. As the kids moved along big smiles broke out on their faces. Johnny had written, "Take all the cookies you want - God is busy watching the apples".


Neighbourhood Corner - Unionville:

Almost all of the 13 sales recorded in Unionville (N-11) this year were of detached homes (mostly 2 storey) which sold for an average of $517,633 and ranged from $385,000 to $650,000. The average is up 15% over the $450,631 recorded during the first 2 months of 2004.
