Giving Back

In January 2007 I had the great, good fortune of moving the hosting and maintenance of my real estate WebSite to a local Toronto company - EleHost.

Through this association with Paul MacKenzie the owner of EleHost, I became aware of The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.

David Sheldrick was given the task of transforming a huge area of previously uncharted desert into what is now Kenya’s famous National  Park - Tsavo. The park was established by an Act of Parliament in 1948 and David Sheldrick was its first Warden. David died in 1977 and the wildlife trust was formed in his memory.

Today - David’s wife – Dr. Dame Daphne Sheldrick lives and works in the Nairobi National park where she has successfully hand-reared newborn Elephant orphans and over a dozen Black Rhino orphans. All the elephant orphans raised by the Trust are gradually rehabilitated back into the wild elephant community of Tsavo National Park.

I was deeply touched by the plight of these animals and decided to add to my animal family by adopting one of the baby elephants through the “Orphan’s Project”. I’m happy to report that my dog Augie and my cat Ziggy now have a little sister.

For many years I have supported, and I continue to support my favourite charities, The Toronto Humane Society - World Vision and the various Cancer Walks held throughout Toronto.  

In “Recognition” of my Clients I’m going to give back by adopting an orphan baby elephant every month.  Look for their pictures on my website in the Elephant Gallery.  

I have a truly blessed life and I'm so grateful to be living in this wonderful city. In return I'm thrilled to be able to reach half way around the world to touch the lives of these magnificent creatures.
