The Cultural Claim To Cruelty
The Cultural Claim To Cruelty – is ancient – self-righteous – part of tradition – often religiously motivated – fuelled by testosterone and savage. Claims of “we have always treated animals this way and it is our cultural heritage” are a sorry excuse for barbaric cruelty.
Citizens, politicians and governments support this belief and encourage it as leaders pound their chests and say “look at us – aren’t we big and brave and courageous – look at how we have smitten the vulgar beast and trampled it into the ground. We are such men”.
No where is this more evident than in the tragic, blood stained bull fights in Spain. Many Spanish people are appalled by bull fighting and attendance at these appalling blood sport spectacles is slowly dwindling. It can’t happen soon enough. It is estimated that approximately 40,000 bulls are slain every year in various bull fights – festivals and celebrations. For what?
These stolen lives support a macho lust for blood – by a wicked and evil industry intent on blood letting – power and domination. This is a business built on cowardice and bullying. Culture is the excuse – tradition the mantra. The reality is bullying boys are desperate to be noticed and fawned over for their bravery as men. The truth is ugly – the deaths of thousands of beautiful, healthy bulls is just a pathetic excuse for an orgy of ignorance and a complete misunderstanding of what it means to be a man in 2014.

So Cruel – So Unnecessary – So Outdated – Revealing A Country Trapped in Cultural Chaos.
Like The Romans Emperors – perhaps the Spanish Government thinks that if they keep the masses entertained that they won’t notice that the country is bankrupt – or remember that their “king” went on an elephant killing safari in Africa as they were losing their jobs.
You Can Help:
Sign petitions – attend a rally – wear a tee-shirt – write to the Spanish government – share your thoughts and support any of the animal rights movements who are fighting this antiquated and barbaric form of “blood sport entertainment”.
