Daily Animal Meditation

Daily Animal Meditation – on November 14, 2013 – I decided to do a daily post on my Facebook Time Line for one year – directed at China – to shut down their ivory carving factories. On November 17, 2013 – I added a second message – asking the Edmonton Zoo – to send Lucy – their imprisoned Asian elephant to a sanctuary.

I wasn’t sure if either post would elicit a response or accomplish anything – but I hoped that some people would take notice and either share a post – leave a comment or simply THINK in a new way about the animals and the associated messages.

Since then I have added other causes to which I am drawn and these daily postings have become a quiet morning meditation for me. I think of the animals – the people involved in trying to help them – the reasons behind animal cruelty – the millions of really “fine” human beings who care and who fight tirelessly on their behalf – the animals we have failed so they are NEVER forgotten – and all those who we have saved – and there are many!

I now get e-mails from people thanking me for doing these little posts. I notice that they are shared and that more people are seeing them. If I have opened one heart or changed one mind – then these daily posts are a success and I will have contributed to the ascendency of good over evil on that particular day.
